IPS and the Chartered Insurance Institute jointly hosted a reception in Shanghai
on 11th April 2011. The reception was attended by more than 100 insurance executives
and the guest of honour was the current Lord Mayor of London, Michael Bear, who
was leading a trade delegation to China
At the reception the Lord Mayor said that he very much encouraged the export of
the British services to China particularly the insurance and financial services
industries and stated that he would assist this as much as possible. Greg Li, the
Regional Director – Asia Pacific for the CII, briefed the audience on the CII's
current involvement in the region and their future plans to become more established
as a qualification of choice for the China market. Jimmy Ping, principal consultant
for IPS in Shanghai, reminded those present of IPS’s long association with the CII
and outlined IPS's involvement with the wider Asian insurance and financial services
markets.
